DISNEY CHANNEL SO HOT SUMMER 2006
Since the early 1980s, the Disney Channel has been providing quality programming for children of all ages. The Disney Channel’s website also caters to children of all ages.
The website gives children access to almost one hundred unique games. The games offer a wide range of challenges, so that children of every skill level can participate and enjoy themselves. For example, the Disney Princess Games are targeted at younger girls. The games are short and easy. They can be played in about five minutes, so that the games capture the attention of young children who are easily distracted. They require minimum skills, yet still challenge your child—for example, asking her to remember sounds or pictures. “Ariel Water Ballet,” a game in which your child pieces together Ariel’s dance moves and watches the mermaid perform, encourages creativity. Your child can generate countless combinations of dance moves and take pleasure from seeing the results of her work. These types of games help develop simple skills in your child.
Other Disney Channel games are more suitable for older children. “The Suite Life of Zack and Cody Pizza Party Pickup” is a challenging puzzle game. You begin by selecting which character you would like to play, either Zack, Cody, Maddie or London. The children are trying to throw a pizza party at the Tipton. You must maneuver through the maze of hallways at the Tipton and collect items such as glasses of lemonade, slices of pizza, balloons and strawberries. Meanwhile, other hotel residents are patrolling the halls and on the lookout. You must dodge them while collecting enough items to open the elevator and move up to the next floor. This game is great for older children. Puzzles increase critical thinking skills by forcing the player to discover patterns.
The Disney Channel website offers games for the young and old alike. Check it out for yourself, and then make sure to bookmark it for your kids. They will be sure to enjoy themselves while playing these constructive, nonviolent games. And if you decide to take any of the games for a test run, well… we won’t tell.
